About

Our story began 80 years ago

The number 39 has a rich history for our company and led us down the path of finding a name that was both relevant and unique in the online photography art space. 1839 was a date generally accepted as the birth year of practical photography. Then in 1939, Bill Miller opened a photography studio in the heartland of the midwest, where he shot weddings and portraits for a time, then served his country in WWII as a cinematographer on the front lines.

Two generations later, that knowledge and experience can't be replicated, it's in our DNA. CEO and master photographer, Richard Miller, is proud to bring thirty9 to the marketplace; combining the history and industry prestige of Miller's with his passion for stunning photography.

"I believe we are designed for love to be the ultimate human experience, and the best way to create a photograph is to view your subject through the lens of love. Oh and life was not meant to be lived without coffee."
