Meet the thirty9 Photographer
A serious interest in illustration and photography started in college and has developed over the years. Living in Florida provided me with a wealth of beautiful tropical themes. My illustrative work eventually attracted the attention of a very patient and kind licensing agent. Our collaboration led to licensing opportunities from F. X. Schmid, Rose Art and Ravensburger. However, a move to Tennessee helped me focus more on photography and completely changed my creative direction. I soon discovered the simple pleasure of traveling the backroads of Tennessee and North Carolina, which afforded me many photographic opportunities. And along the way I’ve found some mighty friendly folks whose families were some of the first pioneers. Of special interest to me are the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, Pisgah National Forest, and Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Historic sites such as Roaring Fork, Cades Cove, and Oconaluftee are a serene detachment from the hurried pace of the highways. I enjoy those moments when the forest just closes in around you. I hope, in some small way, my photography helps to preserve our American heritage and a unique lifestyle that is slowly fading away.
