"Go out and see the world. I hope that my photos inspire people to get out there and see it for themselves."

Meet the thirty9 Photographer

Jason Ogden’s photography profession began when he purchased a drone and fell in love with the new perspective gained from the air. “I lived at the beach on Sullivan’s Island in South Carolina and was fascinated with the cyclical beach erosion patterns that I saw everyday. Our beautiful Lowcountry scenery was even more so when seen from above.” What inspires Jason the most is capturing images no one has seen before, including the winding marsh rivers traveled thousands of times by boat, which look completely different when photographed from above. Jason loves shooting rivers, creeks, and grasses that create an abstract-like pattern from 300 feet up. “There is always something new to discover...I started shooting cargo ships that come into our port and am constantly amazed at the beauty that can be found in subjects rarely thought of as beautiful.” Indeed, it might even take his viewers a minute to figure out what they are seeing when they look at one of his cargo ship prints. Much of Jason’s work reveals patterns, colors, and graceful curves. “As a drone photographer, there are limitless views and vistas to shoot, but my favorite ones are looking straight down at the earth below. I am constantly looking for unexpected beauty in our natural and man-made world.”
