Meet the thirty9 Photographer
“I present photographs that document the infinite play of light and subject, evoking our native connection between soul and environment.” Jay Wesler loves getting out in the wild and exploring the west, capturing fine art black and white landscape photography, in dramatic form. His images - captured in Montana, Utah, Wyoming and our national parks - are sought out by many who live in the area and take pride in having one of Jay’s images showcased on their walls. Jay’s first interest in photography was with a Polaroid camera at an early age, but his real passion for the craft was cemented in a high school photography class, especially around the magic of the darkroom. Knowing he wanted to turn his passion into a profession, Jay studied Film and Photography in college and has never looked back. “I always learn by doing and contributing to life. Photography relates to this as it allows me to get outdoors everyday and get involved to document and share.” Jay describes his style as “a minimalist approach,” but captures anything that has drama and “interesting light,” and would look superb in black and white.
