Meet the Artist - John Valentine
John Valentine
"Each photo is like a fingerprint. And, everyone has the ability to see something in a shot no one else may see."
~ John Valentine
John credits his dad for teaching him how to view and appreciate the natural world around him at a very young age, turning rocks, flowers, and trees into things to be noticed and explored. John remained surrounded by creativity during his career in advertising, and found photography calling to him following retirement. Customers who follow John’s work are attracted to his way of capturing quiet, serene nature scenes and tight shots that manifest graphic textures, a look John achieves with telescopic lenses. “I try to eliminate unnecessary noise in a shot and make the story simple and obvious. I like trying to convey what was on my mind at that particular moment.” Pointing out that photographers shoot even common subjects from their own point of view, John believes photographs are as individual as fingerprints, both from the perspective of the artist and the person viewing the image.
