Meet the thirty9 Photographer
Following a career in public service, Steve Giardini found a new vocation as a fine art landscape photographer and adventure photo tour guide, perfectly merging his active lifestyle, love of the outdoors, and passion for photography. Influenced by both mid-1900 and contemporary landscape photographers, Steve’s approach utilizes natural light and a traditional, but unique, composition style. The majority of his images are taken an hour before or after sunrise or before sunset, when the light is soft but dramatic. Steve hopes his natural-world photographs encourage viewers to explore the outdoors and, equally important, help preserve it. In addition to taking photos, and as a lifelong learner himself, Steve also prides himself on teaching and mentoring other photographers. His photo classes, workshops, and adventure photo tours are built on the belief that learning should be fun but structured. Participants can “expect to be challenged without being intimidated.” Steve is a member of the North American Nature Photographer Association. His work had been published in the online Landscape Photography Magazine, the Bend Lifestyle magazine, and is displayed in businesses and homes throughout Central Oregon and around the world.
